Sir Peter Jackson (born 31 October 1961) is a New Zealand film director, producer, actor, and screenwriter. He's famous for the Lord of the Rings film trilogy and the 2005 King Kong remake. He also produced District 9. Early in his career, he gained attention for his horror comedies and later for Heavenly Creatures, which earned him an Academy Award nomination. Jackson has won three Academy Awards, including Best Director in 2003.
